Item Specs:
1. Start by killing the electricity and disconnecting the power wires from the station platform. You must also remove the platform from your layout if it is permanently attached.
2. Locate the small power reduction board in the kit. Notice the flag that reads "TO STATION." Connect this set of wires to the terminals on the underside of the station platform base. It does not matter which wire goes to which terminal. Then remove the green paper from the sticky adhesive on the power reduction board. Press the board to the underside of the platform base. Try not to touch the adhesive, it will reduce the sticking ability.
3. Now remove the old incandescent bulbs from the station platform. Grasp the bulb and pull straight downward. These bulbs do not twist. Twisting may dislodge or break the sockets.
4. Once the old bulbs are removed, you need to re-apply power to the station platform via the remaining set of wires on the power reduction board. YES, this is not a mistake. We need power to determine the correct orientation of the new LED bulbs. Don't worry, this is low voltage now, the platform is getting less than 3v.
5. Locate the two new LED bulbs from your kit. Gently push the LED bulb into the socket making sure the two pins of the LED align with the two socket holes. If the LED does not light, remove the bulb and insert the pins in the opposite holes. The LED should now light. LEDs require correct polarity to operate. NOTE: If the LED bulbs seem loose, gently bend the two wire prongs apart and re-insert into the socket for a snugger fit. Every socket will be different so it may be necessary to snug up the LEDs. The LED leads are sharp and pose a painful puncture risk! Be careful!
6. You're pretty much done now! Once the tow new LED bulbs are installed and working, It's time to permanently wire and re-attach the station platform to you layout. Enjoy years of worry-free bulb maintenance!
